Matthew Woodson

Matthew Woodson aka Ghostco
http://ghostco.org/

I was really intrigued by the way he illustrates his designs with such details using computers, also looks like to me, vectors. I this type of techniques, that is why I researched this artist and hopefully use his style and technique to his designs.

Three pathways of utilising self-promotion in a developing portfolio

1.Blog
Containing research, developments and final pieces with a reasonable evaluation. This will show the stages of developments on how my style of work develops through time and experimentations.

2.Curriculum Vitae
Can help, by showing previous experiences and qualifications that I have. It also shows the current qualifications that I am studying and current experience. (job) This type of pathway is useful in trying to get any job, also coming with a covering letter.

3.Website.
With this pathway I could get myself known through the internet. Through other peoples research in particular areas that I intend to do, by advertising my type of work, thought and perhaps a small bio about myself

Joshua Hoffine

Research:
Joshua Hoffine

From the brief BOO! In the second stage of the project, I research this artist as I think it is relevant for my designs. Even though he is a photographer, composition and theme wise, it links to my ideas that I am developing and by looking at his work gave me ideas on how frightening I can produce my designs.

Other skills need requiring? and what steps will be taken to obtain these skills?

The skills that I need requiring are the same skills that I have at the moment, drawing, computer, etc. I just need to widen and advance those skills, so that I could go further with those skills and learn more complex skills.
Stages I need in achieving those requires are by a constant challenge, experimenting materials and seeing the outcomes. Using different things again and again till I improve a great deal in order for me to move on to the next stage.

Dark art

Research:

Researching for ideas, I came across these images which contains dark illustrations of art, which I thought is useful for my research.

Skills I already have

The skills that I have already are the general skills, drawing, computers and some knowledge of the art form, which is needed for my course. The only problem is, my knowledge and other skills for this area is not solid enough, and I am not confident enough with my current skills.

Painting- painting is essential in my opportunities as I need to improve upon my painting skills in all mediums, as well as some projects and competitions to get use to all the competition and different briefs.
I might have to go in some clubs in order for me to achieve this improvement.
